Page 304- Gauri Mahalla 4- ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਅਟਿਆ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਰੇ ਗਲਾ ॥ The self-willed manmukh is occupied with greed all day long, although he may claim otherwise. ਰਾਤੀ ਊਘੈ ਦਬਿਆ ਨਵੇ ਸੋਤ ਸਭਿ ਢਿਲਾ ॥ At night, he is overcome by fatigue, and all his nine holes are weakened. ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਦੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਜੋਰਾ ਅਮਰੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਤ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਭਲਾ ॥ Over the head of the manmukh is the order of the woman; to her, he ever holds out his promises of goodness. ਜੋਰਾ ਦਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਅਪਵਿਤ ਅਮੇਧ ਖਲਾ ॥ Those men who act according to the orders of women are impure, filthy and foolish. ਕਾਮਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਕੁਸੁਧ ਨਰ ਸੇ ਜੋਰਾ ਪੁਛਿ ਚਲਾ ॥ Those impure men are engrossed in sexual desire; they consult their women and walk accordingly. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਆਖਿਐ ਜੋ ਚਲੈ ਸੋ ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਭਲ ਭਲਾ ॥ One who walks as the True Guru tells him to, is the true man, the best of the best. ਜੋਰਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਖੇਲ ਸਭਿ ਖਿਲਾ ॥ He Himself created all women and men; the Lord Himself plays every play. ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਵਣੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਲ ਭਲਾ ॥੨॥ You created the entire creation; O Nanak, it is the best of the best. ||2|| Page 1243- Sarang Mahalla 1- ਰੰਨਾ ਹੋਈਆ ਬੋਧੀਆ ਪੁਰਸ ਹੋਏ ਸਈਆਦ ॥ Women have become advisors, and men have become hunters. ਸੀਲੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸੁਚ ਭੰਨੀ ਖਾਣਾ ਖਾਜੁ ਅਹਾਜੁ ॥ Humility, self-control and purity have run away; people eat the uneatable, forbidden food. ਸਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਪਤਿ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥ Modesty has left her home, and honor has gone away with her. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਸਚਾ ਭਾਲਿ ॥੨॥ O Nanak, there is only One True Lord; do not bother to search for any other as true. ||2|| Page 1410 Body pride- Salok Vaaran te Wadhik Mahalla 1- ਉਤੰਗੀ ਪੈਓਹਰੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਗੰਭੀਰੀ ॥ O you with swollen breasts, let your consciousness become deep and profound. ਸਸੁੜਿ ਸੁਹੀਆ ਕਿਵ ਕਰੀ ਨਿਵਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਥਣੀ ॥ O mother-in-law, how can I bow? Because of my stiff nipples, I cannot bow. ਗਚੁ ਜਿ ਲਗਾ ਗਿੜਵੜੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਧਉਲਹਰੀ ॥ O sister, those mansions built as high as mountains ਸੇ ਭੀ ਢਹਦੇ ਡਿਠੁ ਮੈ ਮੁੰਧ ਨ ਗਰਬੁ ਥਣੀ ॥੧॥ - I have seen them come crumbling down. O bride, do not be so proud of your nipples. ||1|| ਸੁਣਿ ਮੁੰਧੇ ਹਰਣਾਖੀਏ ਗੂੜਾ ਵੈਣੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥ O bride with deer-like eyes, listen to the words of deep and infinite wisdom. ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਸਿਞਾਣਿ ਕੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੀਚੈ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥ First, examine the merchandise, and then, make the deal. ਦੋਹੀ ਦਿਚੈ ਦੁਰਜਨਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਕੂੰ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ ॥ Proclaim that you will not associate with evil people; celebrate victory with your friends. ਜਿਤੁ ਦੋਹੀ ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲਨਿ ਲਹੁ ਮੁੰਧੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ This proclamation, to meet with your friends, O bride - give it some thought. ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਜਣਾ ਐਸਾ ਹਸਣੁ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ Surrender mind and body to the Lord your Friend; this is the most excellent pleasure. ਤਿਸ ਸਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਨ ਕੀਚਈ ਜਿ ਦਿਸੈ ਚਲਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ Do not fall in love with one who is destined to leave. ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਇਵ ਕਰਿ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੨॥ O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who understand this. ||2||
